About Silver Faerie Designs, and Melissa Scheel

Since I was young, I've had a great love for faeries and renaissance fairs. I would often create jewelry pieces to go with the costumes I'd wear to the renaissance fair in Larkspur, Colorado. I was often asked who created the pieces I was wearing and where something similar could be purchased. Those questions gave me the idea to start my own business, leading to the opening of Silver Faerie Designs in June of 2005.

I love growing, learning new things and, most of all, being able to create without boundaries. I enjoy working with many different types of materials. Having started with mainly seed beads, I've branched into crystal and semi-precious gemstones. I've been beading for four years, though I started hoarding beads about six years ago. I've learned so much and so many different techniques that sometimes I feel my brain might explode! I take pride in each and every piece that I create; I refuse to make anything that I myself would not be willing to wear.

My Mother
My mother is my business associate and my biggest supporter. She likes to go shopping for pretty shiny objects with me, and often creates pieces for the website. She's always been behind me 100%- this company would not exist without her!

Tobias
I could never forget my puppy Tobias. He reminds me that I need to take a break from creating. (Purely selfish reasons on his part- he often jumps into my lap insisting on affection.) His hobbies include laying on that important item I need and trying to eat my projects in his spare time, much to my annoyance.

Silver Faerie Designs creates jewelry that any woman could wear, be they fae or "just" a woman of discriminating taste.
